Cary bank robbed, suspect flees with cash

CARY, N.C.

It happened at the Fifth Third Bank in the 7200 block of Tryon Road just before after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say the suspect, who is in his 20s, demanded money and said he had a gun, but never showed it.

The suspect was described as a white man about 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing a black cap, aviator sunglasses, a white t-shirt and dark blue work pants.

Police say no customers were inside the bank when the robbery happened.

There's no word on how much cash was taken.
