Fifth suspect named in Fayetteville kidnapping and murder of Navy veteran Errol Williams

FAYETTEVILLE

They have warrants for 21-year-old Joseph Haskins on charges of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was originally considered a person of interest in the case.

Police say Haskins has a last known address of 926 Spellman Drive in Fayetteville. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The Fayetteville Police department also announced Wednesday it arrested a third man it has been seeking in the same case.

Fayetteville Police Chief Harold Medlock said 20-year-old Kourtney Terrell Reed was captured in a home in the St. Pauls area. He said federal marshals were searching the home when Reed fell through the ceiling - literally into their arms.

Reed is one of now five men accused in the kidnapping of 27-year-old Williams. He was abducted from a Kangaroo gas station in the 5600 block of Bragg Boulevard, and forced to drive to the Shaw Heights area. That's where he was shot and killed when he tried to escape.

Last week, the US Marshal's Task Force arrested 36-year-old Anthony Solomon Porter in the 6000 block of Gavins Street, near Bragg Boulevard in Fayetteville.

Eric Lamont Phillips, 31, is also in custody.

Chief Medlock said his officers are still hunting for 31-year-old Kelly Eugene Elliott - who was described as armed and dangerous.

Reed is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Porter is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, conspiracy to commit a felonious assault , and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon in Raleigh.

Phillips is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Investigators have described Elliot as the alleged triggerman. Chief Medlock encouraged him to surrender so that he can tell his side of what happened.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Elliott and Haskins is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1690 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
