North Carolina Dentists offering free dental care to armed forces service members

Thursday is Freedom Day USA, and in honor of those who serve in the armed forces, dentists across the country are providing free dental care to service members.

One dentist office in Raleigh participating in the special thank you says it is all about serving those who serve.

"We're planning on giving out free same day dental care to all active duty service members and their families," said Dr. M. Craig Williams with Williams & Daily Dental on Falls of Neuse Road.

Offering free dental services as part of Freedom Day USA was started by a dentist in West Virginia.

"We're very excited," Williams said. "We've got staff members who've got family members, sons, in the military and just finding a way to say thank you for everything they do was a no brainer."

Williams & Daily said they will be taking walk-ins Thursday, but encouraged appointments because they're expecting a big turnout.

"Pretty much whole day ... we've set aside for Freedom Day," Williams said.
