Burglary suspect faces 21 charges

RALEIGH

ABC11 has found Kevin Bethea has been charged with additional crimes while digging through court documents.

In two robberies, students were home when Bethea allegedly broke in. One student was sleeping; the other had just come home in between classes making this one brazen burglar.

"She walked outside of her room and he was just standing there...he made up some story about how he was looking for some place to buy an apartment or something like that. She was like...this is the wrong place. And she got him out of the house and she called the police immediately," said Kristin King whose roommate was robbed.

Bethea is facing 21 charges of breaking and entering into people's homes in Wake County along with other crimes. Cash, laptops, and jewelry are just some of the goods Bethea allegedly targeted along with some students.

Bethea will be back in court in early October. He is facing charges from Raleigh police along with NCSU. Police suggest the public lock their doors and windows and look out for their neighbors.
