Police arrested 42-year-old Davey Alley on Saturday night after the overnight murder of a live-in caretaker.
Susie Ann Hester was found stabbed to death Saturday morning at a home in the 200 block of King Street. Hester was a live-in caretaker for Alley's 91-year-old grandmother.
"She [Hester] was a very nice lady. And you never heard talk or nothing happening on this street. And that was a shock for everybody," said neighbor Gloria Thorpe.
Alley's grandmother, who has dementia, was found unharmed by police. Police are looking into what lead to the killing.
Allen is charged with first degree murder. He is currently being held at the Granville County Jail without bond.
