The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is warning residents about an alleged peeper on campus.

An alert was sent out through the campus-wide alert system after UNC Police received a report from a female student who saw a man peeping at her while she was in the shower early Friday morning.

It happened around 3 a.m. at Connor Residence Hall.

The suspect was described as an Asian man, standing at about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing dark-framed glasses, a dark-colored Duke hoodie, and possibly blue jeans.

UNC Police are reminding students to take extra precautions and make sure to keep their room doors locked at all times, and not allow strangers to "piggy-back" through entrances to residence halls or any campus buildings.

Students ABC11 that UNC has already made security changes. Before, anyone could walk right into the bathroom, but now people must use a key fob to enter.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the UNC Police Department at (919) 962-8100 or contact the Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515.
