Dr. Mark Savage of Heritage High School won the honors at the Marbles Kids Museum. He has been principal since 2010, when the school first opened.

Savage started working in Wake Schools in 1997 as an English teacher at Leesville Road High School. He went on to serve as assistant principal at Wakefield middle and high schools. His first job as principal was at Wakefield Middle. His second job as principal was at Wakefield High.

"Without a doubt, my biggest accomplishment would be the world we have created at Heritage High School," Savage said. "Partnering with these educators, students and parents, we have really created something unique. It's been a capstone."

Savage won a $1,000 check, a Carolina Panthers Game Package, and office supplies.
