Authorities said a vehicle hit the pole, knocking it down to the ground.
Images from Chopper11 HD showed a van with front-end damage and another vehicle that appeared to be involved in the accident.
Details surrounding the accident have not been released.
All four lanes of Roxboro Street were blocked off while authorities worked to clear the scene.
