Pedestrians struck in two separate accidents

RALEIGH

The first one happened around 6:30 a.m. at mile marker 300, near Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh.

A man was reportedly walking down the westbound shoulder of the interstate when a vehicle struck him, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

Police said the man hit the vehicle's windshield then reportedly picked himself up, walked away from the car, and sat down on the guardrail.

EMS transported the unidentified man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Thirty minutes later, a woman walking along North Roxboro Road near Monk Road in northern Durham was struck by a car.

Authorities said the unidentified woman was crossing the road when she was clipped by a car mirror. She suffered minor injuries.

Further details about the incidents have not been released.
