Fayetteville skeletal remains identified as missing woman

FAYETTEVILLE

A person walking discovered the skull and other bones Tuesday along railroad tracks in the area of Winslow Street and Southern Avenue.

The medical examiner's office says the remains are those of 38-year-old Marcella Anne Thompson, who was reported missing on September 26.

Police said they have recovered the vehicle that Thompson was last known to be driving when she left home.

According to detectives, 38-year-old Pierre Rouchant Lowe was driving it, and led police on a chase before crashing. He fled on foot and has not been captured. He is not charged in Thompson's disappearance, but officers said they want to talk to him about it.

Detectives have arrests warrants for Lowe for felony fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer and resisting a law enforcement officer.
