Police were called to the bank just after noon Tuesday.
Bank employees said a man entered the bank, presented a note demanding money, and then fled on foot.
Based on the description of the robbery suspect, 30-year-old Robert Thomas Fitzwater was found near the Forest Hills Apartments, which is directly across the street from the bank.
Officers chased Fitzwater and he was taken into custody.
Police recovered the money stolen from the bank. They said Fitzwater did not use a weapon during the robbery.
No one was injured.
