A tweet comparing Obamacare to Nazis and terrorists is generating heated responses on Twitter.

The tweet comes from North Carolina state Senator Bob Rucho.

N.C. Republican Party Chairman Claude Pope says Rucho should apologize for the tweet that reads, "Justice Robert's pen & Obamacare has done more damage to the USA then the swords of the Nazis, Soviets & terrorists combined."

"The tweet is highly offensive and he should apologize," said Pope.

While many responses on Twitter criticized Rucho's grammar, many echoed similar feelings against the tweet, and even took it as an opportunity to criticize the GOP as a whole.

Rucho then tweeted, again, asking followers to and quote, "Put your thinking caps back on: "The PEN is mightier than the SWORD."

Rucho told ABC11 he stands by his tweet.
