Man and woman shot to death in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE

Officers were called to one of the units around 8:25 p.m.

Investigators told ABC11 people inside answered the door to an unidentified suspect, got into an argument, and shots were fired.

Isaiah Manuel Sampeur, 25, and Pamela Ann Coe, 40, were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.

Police do not believe the crime was a random act of violence.

Neighbors told ABC11 they fear for their safety. These murders come at a time when Cambridge Arms Apartment complex is fighting an image of being unsafe, and prone to violence.

Some Fayetteville city leaders wanted the apartment complex shut down last year, and now some of its residents are rethinking living arrangements. Neighbors say this is the third time in a week they have heard gunshots in the complex that sits off a well-lit, commercial stretch.

"It's not safe. I came from a town where I didn't have to lock my door. I didn't have to protect myself at all times," said one neighbor. "I never know if it's going to be me or not."

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective R. Hutchins with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
