Fayetteville explosion believed cause of fire at Southwood Apartments

An apparent explosion in Fayetteville leads to a four-unit apartment catching on fire.

It happened off Applecross Avenue inside the Southwood Apartment complex off Strickland Bridge Road.

Firefighters say the fire was burning heavily when they arrived shortly after midnight Saturday; they believe an explosion caused it.

Fortunately, everyone made it out safely. No injuries were reported.

No word on how much damage was caused. The incident is under investigation.
