Video from Chopper 11HD showed canoes, one of them overturned, downstream from Buckhorn Dam.
One canoe was upright with two people inside.
Another was capsized, but two people could be seen on the shore.
A swift water rescue team eventually reached the people and took them to shore.
There's no word on any injuries or why the people decided to brave the rain-swollen river.
