An elderly couple was attacked and held at gunpoint in their own home over the weekend.

Police say it happened Saturday at 1:25 a.m. at a home in the 800 block of Berwick Drive when four men forced their way into the home through the front door.

At least two of the suspects were armed with handguns as they entered the home and began to demand that the couple give them all of their money.

When the suspects were unable to restrain the couple, police say they began to punch and kick them.

The suspects fled the home with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police are not identifying the names of the victims at this time.

Anyone with information concerning the home invasion or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Sergeant G. Womble with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 916-2764. You can also submit information to Crimestoppers by calling (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
