The boy - who police have not officially identified - was shot around 9:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Pineland Street.

He was flown to UNC Hospital in critical condition.
Thursday, 21-year-old Pierre Alexander Amerson, of Bella Bridge Road in Harnett County, was arrested on murder and other charges. He was found at a hotel in the Fayetteville area.
Amerson was transported back to Sanford. He was placed in Lee County Jail without bond on the murder charge and $300,000 on the firearms charge.
Amerson has a lengthy criminal record. He was also arrested in Durham in 2012 after a shooting that left a man wounded.
