North Carolina Central University fans gathered in front of the McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium Wednesday afternoon to see the Eagles off on their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.

"There's four teams in the tourney from the 919 [area code], and we are there!" said NCCU chancellor Debra Saunders-White.

Coach LeVelle Moton and his team will take on the Iowa State Cyclones in first round at San Antonio Friday.
