The TSA showed off their newest member of their team Friday at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

They are adding specially trained K-9s that are trained to detect explosives or if there's residue of an explosive.

The TSA said the dogs will offer another layer of security for travelers, and also improve efficiency.

TSA says the K-9s will not be stationed at RDU permanently. Instead, they will be used periodically.
