Authorities say a man is dead after he lost control of his vehicle on a wet road early Saturday morning.

Troopers say 26-year-old Addison James Kaylid was traveling northbound on Aviation Parkway around 4:20 a.m. when he took the ramp to Interstate 540 East and lost control.

Officials say he was traveling at a high rate speed when he drove off the road, struck a tree, and his Ford SUV erupted in flames.

Kaylid died at the scene. Troopers say he was the only person in the vehicle and no other cars were involved.

Investigators said they believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
