Raleigh police memorial to be dedicated this month

RALEIGH

The $500,000 memorial will have 21 stone columns which represent a 21 gun salute as well as a pool with eight voids representing each officer.

It's located at 222 West Hargett Street and replaces the fountain at City Hall.

Money for the memorial was raised by the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation. It was founded in 2009 by a group of active and retired Raleigh police officers. The organization still needs another $20,000. For information on how to donate, visit: http://rpdmemorial.wordpress.com/
