Man accused of threatening Raleigh mayor facing federal charge

RALEIGH

According to an indictment obtained by ABC11 Monday, Alec Redner is charged with making threats under federal interstate communications law.

Redner had been released on house arrest last month. According to court documents, Redner sent the mayor an email chiding her for making a joke out of the U.S. Constitution.

According to a search warrant, the email went on to say, "...soon you will be on the other end of the barrel... Watch out."
