Police said 39-year-old Wendell Thomas was sitting in a red Dodge when two men approached his vehicle and shot him in the shoulder.

Thomas was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. His injuries were not considered life threatening.

Surveillance cameras inside the grocery story captured the two men standing near the front before the shooting. Police aren't saying if the two were following, or waiting for someone.

"You can see one black male with what appears to be a White Sox jacket on," said Fayetteville Police Officer Antoine Kincade. "He is accompanied by another black male. It also appears he may have dread locks covered with a cap or beanie."

While their descriptions are vague, police hope someone recognizes them, or what they are wearing.

"The second one, you can tell he definitely had on some kind of red or bright colored shoes. That will stick out," said Kincade.

The men were later seen fleeing the area in a dark colored vehicle after the shooting.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting, is urged to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS(8477). A $1,000 reward is being offered in this case.
