Troopers said 16-year-old Desmond Piccini of Mebane was driving a 1989 Ford Mustang east on Lebanon Rd. when the car travelled onto the eastbound shoulder.

Piccini apparently overcorrected, causing the car to cross the center line onto the westbound shoulder, where it hit a rock wall and overturned.

Piccini was killed. Williams was a passenger in the car and suffered minor injuries.

ABC11 archives show that Williams was also a passenger in another fatal car accident in January 2013, that killed two other teenagers. That crash also involved alleged street racing.

Piccini was a junior and baseball player at Eastern Alamance High School.
