You know those horror stories people have about running into mailboxes during the driving portion of Driver's Ed? This woman can put all of those to shame.

Police told the BBC that an 18-year-old driver with a learner's license pulled out in front of a British Army tank in Germany Monday. The massive vehicle was unable to stop in time, crushing the little Toyota Yaris in its path.

The operators of the tank were able to pull the car's driver to safety, and no one was hurt. The car, on the other hand, wound up with about $13,000 worth of damage.

It's fairly common to see armored vehicles on rural roads in Germany, the BBC reports. A spokesperson for the British Army said that it's no laughing matter, and the drivers of the vehicles undergo intense training to operate the tanks.

"It is something we do take very, very seriously," they said, "especially with beasts of that size travelling on public roads."
