14-year-old boy hit by SUV trying to cross Durham road

DURHAM, North Carolina -- Authorities in Durham are investigating after a boy was hit by an SUV while trying to cross NC-54 Tuesday morning.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. when the 14-year-old tried to cross NC-54 at South Alston Avenue.

The SUV was going west and struck the teenager, injuring his shoulder.

The boy was taken to the hospital. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
