Credit card data breach at Durham restaurant
Data may have been stolen from certain credit and debit cards used at 33 P.F. Chang's China Bistro restaurants across the country.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- The P.F. Chang's China Bistro restaurant chain says it is investigating a security breach at 33 locations across the U.S. - including its eatery at The Streets at Southpoint Mall on Fayetteville Road in Durham.

In Durham, the breach affects customers who used their debit or credit cards at P.F. Chang's between Feb. 21 and June 11.

The company says it was alerted to the breach by the Secret Service June 10 and immediately took action.

"The security compromise has been contained and P.F. Chang's has been processing credit and debit card data securely at all locations since June 11," said the company in a statement.

"The potentially stolen credit and debit card data includes the card number and in some cases also the cardholder's name and/or the card's expiration date. However, we have not determined that any specific cardholder's credit or debit card data was stolen by the intruder," the statement continues.

P.F. Chang's says it has set up a confidential hotline to answer questions. Customers can call Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Time at (877) 412-7152.
