CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Lowes Foods held a ribbon cutting Wednesday at its remodeled store at Cary Parkway and High House Road in Cary.

The well-known chain has closed some stores and revamped others as it looks to stay competitive in the grocery store wars that are heating up with the arrival of the new kid on the block Publix, which has two stores planned in the Triangle.

Lowes is also fending off competition from the likes of Harris Teeter, Walmart and Food Lion.
