New high-speed internet coming to Durham
The service boasts ultra-fast internet speeds up to one gigabit per second.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Mayor Bill Bell and AT&T officials cut the ribbon at a new store on Fayetteville Street Monday as they announced new high-speed internet service in the city.

AT&T says it's bringing its U-verse with AT&T GigaPowerSM service to residential and small business locations in parts of Durham.

The service boasts ultra-fast internet speeds up to one gigabit per second. That means customers could download about 25 songs in less than a second and their favorite movie in high definition in a little over 30 seconds.
