Wake Ed Partnership honors the Stars of Education

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Making a child's education the best it can be it takes a lot of people. Not only are a student's parents and teachers involved, there's also community support.

Wake Ed Partnership helps to provide that community support. On October 18, Wake Ed Partnership will hold its annual Stars of Education awards dinner to celebrate and honor those who form the backbone of public education.

This year's honorees will be inducted into the Wake County Public School System's Hall of Fame. Also, the Vernon Malone Fried of Education Award will be presented to Doug McMillan, the CEO of the YMCA of the Triangle.

The Stars of Education awards dinner is Wednesday, October 18 from 5-8pm at the Raleigh Marriott City Center.
