About two dozen students were forced to show their underwear to school officials after feces were found on the gym floor

GUSTINE, TX -- An elementary school in north Texas is under fire for allegedly forcing students to drop their pants to find out who defecated in the gym.

It happened in the town of Gustine on Monday, according to WFAA in Dallas. It began when teachers discovered feces on the floor of the gym. Parents say boys were taken to one room and girls to another as teachers and staff checked their underwear.

"I felt uncomfortable, and I didn't want to do it," said 11-year-old Eliza Medina. "I felt like they violated my privacy."

"I was furious... I mean, I was furious," Maria Medina, Eliza's mother, said. "If you can't do your job or you don't know what you're doing, you need to be fired. You shouldn't be here."

Gustine ISD Superintendent Ken Baugh says the inspection goes too far and an investigation is underway. He said his understanding is that the children were told to lower their pants just a little.

Elisa says it was more than that.

"Like... to where your butt is," is how she put it.

Some angry parents are already planning to show up at tonight's school board meeting to demand that someone be held accountable.
