Caila and Jared make a connection in 'Paradise' as Ashley returns

NEW YORK -- It's a big week on "Bachelor in Paradise!" Caila and Ashley were making their grand entrances on the show. This is a repeat appearance for Ashley, while Caila was last seen getting her heart broken by Ben Higgins. Before we could get to all of that, we returned to see Evan attempting to give a sad little date card to Amanda while she was making out with Josh. She decided to go to the treehouse with Evan, which is ridiculous! Everyone found it so weird! Vinny said he just wants to shake him and tell him to stop being "the king of being awkward." Evan asked Amanda if there's "anyplace in your heart where you could see something happening?" Josh continued to eat pizza and drink wine while he waited for Amanda to come back. It turns out he also groans while he eats pizza. Amanda meantime said that she wished he had brought it up sooner, but now she's involved with Josh and has feelings for him. Evan is ridiculous; he said he actually felt hopeful after that talk. Um, dude! She turned you down! Amanda returned to Josh who was moaning and groaning while eating pizza and she told him that she felt so bad and had tears in her eyes about shooting Evan down. Josh just looked at her with crazy eyes, continued to eat his pizza, and told her not to worry about it. Then he started to kiss her with his pizza breath. Jared was talking to Evan about what happened and what he took away from the conversation was that Amanda had wanted to take him on a date. Was there part of the conversation we didn't see? This guy is nuts!

The next day, Daniel shaved Vinny's back hair with an electric razor and then they all hit up the beach. As the sun set, they prepared for yet another rose ceremony, but first they would have a cocktail party. Chris Harrison walked in and mentioned how sweaty Josh is! He was sweating through his shirt and he said it's because he's cozied up next to Amanda. She doesn't seem to mind though! Daniel used his time before the ceremony to kiss Sarah, who wasn't super impressed by it. Brandon said that he felt confident that Haley would give him a rose, as she tried to explain the differences between her and her twin Emily to him.

Evan wandered around the beach and interrupted yet another makeout session between Amanda and Josh. Seriously, he's crazy! Does he think Amanda doesn't know about the tell-all book about Josh? Evan tries to play that up and warns her to be careful around Josh. That totally made Amanda question things, so she went over and spoke to the ladies who said that Evan is probably right and she should be careful. Lace tells Grant about her talk with Amanda and Josh was right there. Grant is like, Josh come talk to Lace, and Lace tells him what Amanda is hearing from Evan. Josh pulled Evan aside and said, "Is there anything you need to tell me?" He went on to say that no one should judge him by that book. Evan told him that he was "too polished" and seemed fake. "His polish is so polished," Evan said. His attempt to take Josh down just comes off so desperate. Nick spoke to Amanda and said that he thinks Josh is the luckiest guy there. He said that he hopes Andi made that stuff up in the book, and said that there is some truth but a lot of inaccuracies about him in it too. So he encouraged her to, "ask the right questions." Amanda was really bummed that she has to deal with this whole situation. Josh called the guys cowards to Amanda and she was left with a lot of lingering questions.

Then it was time for the actual rose ceremony and the roses went to:

Lace - Grant

Izzy - Vinny

Emily - Jared

Amanda - Josh

Sarah - Daniel

Carly - Evan

Haley - Nick

That meant that Brandon and Christian's time in "Paradise" was short and only lasted one week. Sarah cut Christian loose and Haley let Brandon go because he couldn't tell the difference between her and Emily. He was so sad! He said, "I was probably just boring." Who says that about themselves?

Emily is already super into Jared but, Caila entered the scene and it looked like Jared and every other guy's focus went straight to her. She's a beautiful girl. She came in with a date card and made an early connection with him. He finally seems excited about someone! Caila asked Jared on a date, and he told her that he had to go talk to Emily first. He said to Emily that if he didn't go out with Caila he would regret it, and Emily said that "in all honesty, it hurts." Emily told him that she wanted him to go, and said, "let's just leave it at that."

Jared went off on his date with Caila and they went horseback riding on the beach. Jared said that this was his favorite date in "Paradise" so far. After that they ran into the water and went for a swim. He told her as they sat on the beach that he is committed to getting to know her and that he only has eyes for her. She told him that she felt the same and they started to kiss.

Weird beach moment: Daniel sprinkling water in Vinny's belly button and then sucking it back out with a straw. Also, Lace yelled out to Amanda and Josh wanting to know if they breathe when they kiss. The consensus is that those two should go get a room.

A date card arrived and it was for Izzy and Lace! They got the first double date card in "Bachelor in Paradise" history. Lace said that she and Grant were a "day one" couple like Izzy and Vinny so I guess she's forgetting all about her drunken make out session with Chad.

Caila and Jared returned from their date and Emily sat there waiting for him. She conceded that Caila is probably a better kisser than her because she has "fatter lips" that she does. They told everyone about their date as Emily stared Jared down. He decided to not acknowledge her at that point and went to the bar with Caila. Eventually, he came back and asked Emily to go for a talk. She told Jared that she cares about him more than she expected and Jared said that he did care about her too, but he feels like he should explore a relationship with Caila and called it "unbelievable timing." Poor Emily!

On the double date, the couples went out to a nice dinner and just continuously complimented each other. Both couples decided that they would exclusively date each other during their time on "Paradise". Meantime, Daniel and Sarah had dinner with Evan and Carly in their own weird "double date." They made a drinking game out of Daniel's Canadian sayings, it was pretty funny. Carly thought it was hilarious that he was working out jokingly alongside Daniel. Daniel was so sweet and saying that Evan looked handsome that night. Maybe it's the alcohol, but perhaps Carly might be coming around to Evan.

Later, Evan laid down and the producers couldn't wake him up. He suffered a medical issue and everyone freaked out. Evan seemed 100% fine though! Carly went over to help him but apparently he needs someone to stay with him for the night to monitor him. Carly is starting to become slightly attracted to him! It's bizarre. The next thing you know, they started making out.

Back on the double date, they all went walking hand and hand down the street and headed to another place to do some dancing. It was Senior Frogs and that night spot can get pretty crazy! Foam came raining down on the dance floor and they all seemed to get a little drunk. Izzy said that everyone was half naked and it was a little dirty. A random girl threw ice on Izzy while they were doing body shots at the bar. Lace got in that girl's face and a bouncer threw out the ice girl. Grant removed Lace from the situation and they went into the street to kiss. He's good at keeping her "under control."

Back on the beach, Ashley walked in! She's back and hoping to rekindle her romance with Jared. They are currently not together and he is very much into Caila. Jared didn't know that Ashley was arriving and it's sure to be a big shock. Cue the tears!
