ABC brings the laughs on Wednesday nights with hilarious new shows and returning favorites

Wednesday is the working person's least favorite day of the week. You're officially the furthest point away from your past and coming weekend, and there's still two full days of work ahead of you before time off. Wednesdays, simply put, are brutal.

But if you're getting too down on the mid-week blues, you can always look forward to cheering yourself up with ABC's funny Wednesday night lineup. Featuring four unique comedies with their own fresh take on raising families and creating laughs, these comedies are bold, innovative and undeniably hilarious. Take a look at what ABC has in store for you on Wednesday night.

First off on ABC's Wednesday lineup is the Emmy-nominated "The Middle" at 8 EST/PST / 7 CST. Following matriarch Frankie Heck and her daily mishaps trying to control her dysfunctional family, "The Middle" is a funny, fresh take on family comedies.

Up next is "The Goldbergs," giving viewers a funny, retro look at a family trying not to pull each other's hair out, and their youngest son Adam's dedication to documenting the whole process. Series creator Adam F. Goldberg based a lot of show off of his own personal experience, so "The Goldbergs'" humor rings true with a warm touch of sentimentality and nostalgia.

The Emmy-award winning comedy heavyweight "Modern Family" returns at 9 EST/PST / 8 CST. Featuring three different but related families, "Modern Family" blends socially relevant humor and fleshed-out characters into a modern day comedy classic.

The highly anticipated "Black-ish" will be having its series premiere at 9:30 EST/PST / 8:30 CST. Starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, the show focuses on one African-American family trying to gain a sense of cultural identity in a primarily upper-middle-class neighborhood.
