Haley Atwell, Eddie Cahill talk about ABC's 'Conviction'

NEW YORK -- British star Haley Atwell and Eddie Cahill are talking about their roles in ABC's new show, "Conviction."

Atwell, who played "Agent Carter" in the series "Agent Carter" for two seasons, said the show is about a group of people called the conviction integrity group, which is set up to hash-out old cases and see if there was any miscarriage of justice.

It's like a private version of the real-life "innocence project."

Atwell's character is described as a disrupter.

"She is very messy around the edges, and I think (that makes her) that's what makes her interesting is that's what's going on underneath the surface," Atwell said.

Cahill, who grew up in Armonk (just outside of New York City in Westchester County), talked about how he first got interested in the business.

"I was lucky to be in a high school that had a strong, supported theater program that when I got bit by the bug, I had a real place, a real viable place to go and get it done," Cahill said.

Cahill said he saw "Les Miserables" when he was 16 years old and got hooked.

The show is set in New York City and is shot in Toronto.
