Three-year-old Cooper Waldvogel couldn't wait to give his mom a hug after she came home from Afghanistan.
Many families and friends gathered as the National Guard unit returned home from a 9 month assignment in Afghanistant.
Kathryn was ready to pick up Cooper as he ran from the crowd.

Cooper is nothing but smiles when he sees his mom.
Eventually Cooper has to head back to the crowd so the ceremony can finish.

Three-year-old Cooper Waldvogel had gone nine months without seeing his mom Kathryn who was deployed in Afghanistan. So when Kathryn finally came home after completing her assignment with the National Guard, Waldvogel wasn't going to let anything, including military protocol, stop him from hugging his mom.

The video below depicts Kathryn Vogel taking part in a military ceremony in Little Falls, Minnesota. Soldiers are supposed to wait for dismissal until they can meet with family members, but Cooper didn't care as he ran across the room and gave his mom one military sized hug.
