Thousands of eggs were hidden on Saturday for Easter egg hunts across the Triangle.

Governor McCrory and the first lady opened up the executive mansion for Easter on Saturday morning.

They invited 70 military families to meet the Easter Bunny, hunt for eggs, and play in a bounce house.

The service members came from Fort Bragg, Came Lejeune, Cherry Point, and other bases around the state.

In a statement, first lady Ann McCrory said they were honored to have these brave men, women, and families join them.

Meanwhile, more than 10,000 eggs were hidden in Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest. Hundreds of children came out to search for them during the town's annual Easter egg hunt.

In Garner, hundreds of little Easter egg hunters went searching for eggs in Lake Benson Park on Saturday.

There were crafts, entertainment, and other kid-friendly activities for Garner's annual Spring Egg-stravaganza.
