ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A North Carolina man had a week full of celebration that started with his birthday, ended with the birth of his grandson, and had a $200,000 lottery surprise in the middle.

"I'm still pinching myself," said Timothy Bolick, from Reidsville. "I can't believe this is all happening."

According to the North Carolina Education lottery, Bolick said he buys two tickets every week, but this week he didn't check his tickets until the day after his birthday.

"I told them that I might have a big winner," Bolick said. "The (grocery store) clerk gave me a high five and then scanned the ticket. Sure enough, the bells and whistles started going off. My heart started beating 100 miles an hour and I thought, 'Oh my God, this can't be happening.'"

He said he wasn't able to sleep that night, or the next, but that was partly because his grandson was born.

Bolick finally claimed the prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. He took home $139,002 after taxes.

He said he plans to save most of the money for retirement, but also plans to take his family on a beach trip.
