Raleigh woman named one of the 'Best Dressed Southerners'
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Raleigh woman just landed in 'Southern Living' magazine's list for Best Dressed Southerners.
Magazine writers looked at all the movers and shakers around the South right now, and picked people that represent southern style and fresh forward thinking.
Ashley Vermillion Harris has style and flare, which might be with 'Southern Living' just picked her as one of its 50 Best Dressed Southerners.
"I'm a firm believer in wear something that's flattering and that you feel comfortable in," said Harris, "and then to really accessorize and update your wardrobe."
She let ABC11's Anna Laurel raid her closet to see what makes her so stylish.
"I do think of clothing as art," said Harris. "But I am a colorist at heart. And that works really well in the South because we southerners love beautiful pretty colors."
Harris owns a high end designer boutique called Vermillion in North Hills. She will celebrate 10 years in business next week.
"I feel like I'm still true to my classic ways that I've always been, but I'm a little more adventurous," Harris explained. "I feel a little bolder about things."
Harris says most southerners she sees are also getting bolder with their style.
"That's a true innovator to me, when you can stand the test of time but also create something new and fashion forward that still looks new and fashion forward so many years later."
