2 injured after car plows into KFC, Fayetteville police say

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating a crash that sent two people to the hospital Friday afternoon.

Officers said they were called to the KFC on Cliffdale Road around 2:00 p.m. after reports of an accident.

When police arrived, they found that an 80-year-old Betsy Bailey had driven her car into the fast food restaurant.

Bailey and a 65-year-old pedestrian, David Williams, were transported to Cape Fear Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police have not commented on how the car ended up in the building or the extent of damage the building suffered.

However, they said only employees were in the restaurant when the incident occurred.
