Fayetteville police charge man in June rape case

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department's Special Victims Unit have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with an alleged rape that happened June 4.

Tyrell Davon Lovely, 21, of the 1700 block of Rim Road was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree rape and attempted second-degree rape.

The victim was an acquaintance of the suspect, police said.

Lovely was placed in the Cumberland County Detention Center. He received a $100,000 secured bond.

No other details were immediately available.
