Sites offer back to school deals and donations to a charity of your choice as well as all the scoop on where your kids eat free.
If back to school means busier days for your house, you aren't alone.
This time of year, thousands head back to the classroom, and experts say back to school sales are expected to surpass more than $50 billion dollars this year. If you still have some shopping to do, there is a way to help you save money on all that shopping while also giving back to your favorite cause through the website Goodshop.com.
First, you log on to Goodshop.com and choose a charity or cause you would like to support such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation or local charities including the Helping Hand Mission in Durham, then start shopping. The site has deals at dozens of stores including Macy's, Sears, Target and Old Navy. Each deal also reveals a donation showing how much of your purchase will go to the charity of your choice.
In addition, as schedules become more packed during the school year, there is one stop you can make online to worry less about dinnertime - it's RatherBeShopping.com.
RatherBeShopping.com founder Kyle James has compiled a list of more than 50 restaurants that allow kids to eat free covering nearly every night of the week.
"I'm up to 55, 57 restaurants that kids eat free," explained James. "Some of them actually eat free everyday, others are specific days of the week. On Monday's, some of the more popular ones are IHOP, TGI Friday's, Red Robin. Tuesday's its Applebees, Bennigans, Chevy's, Pizza Hut, Chick-fil-A. It's a cool way to save for kids meals."
