RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Hayes Barton Baptist Church has a gym full of kids stuff as they prepare for their twice-a-year consignment sale this week.

"We have all sorts of kids clothes and toys and books," said Diane Willeford who is the chair of the sale. "Pretty much anything a kid can use or wear or even dream of needing."

The sale includes toys, backpacks, bikes, strollers and lots of Fall and Winter gear.

"We have Halloween costumes of all kinds," said Willeford. "There's some really cute stuff-this looks like Tigger costume and maybe a ladybug. We also have coats for winter-which those are huge savings."

While consignors receive 60 percent of each item that is sold, the other 40 percent goes back into youth ministry programs at the church.

"A lot of our money from the past couple of sales has gone to pay for the renovations to the nursery suite," explained Willeford. "But, we have also used it for re-doing our classrooms and anything that we can do within the community geared towards children ministries. That's what our portion of the money is used for."

Hayes Barton Church has been putting on this kids consignment sale since 2007 and it's grown quite a bit.

"We typically run 300 to 350 consignors," said volunteer Stella Barker. "And, they come from all over, Wake County, and Johnston County, and surrounding counties. I think I'm most surprised on the quality of items we get. People really take good care of things and that's something we pride ourselves on selling good quality used items."

The Hayes Barton Baptist Church Kidz Stuff Consignment Sale opens to the public Thursday from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The Friday hours are 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday the time is 8 a.m. - noon. All items are half price on Saturday.
