MoneySaver: Raleigh merchants offer discounts on 20th of each month
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Shoppers can save with many Raleigh merchants on the 20th of each month.
Members of Shop Local Raleigh offer discounts and promotions as part of a campaign encouraging shoppers to spend $20 locally on the 20th.
"People remember, 'Isn't there something happening on the 20th,'" explained Chuck Millsaps, one of the owners of the Great Outdoor Provision Company in Cameron Village. "People come around like today, the 18th and ask. And, a lot of people come in on the 21st or 22nd and say, 'Oh gosh that's right, I could have had the discount on the 20th!'"
"We offer 20 percent off on any item in the shop," Millsaps added. "So, any single item is 20 percent off retail and you can get that on the 20th of each month."
There are a few restrictions on some of the bigger items at the Great Outdoor Provision Company.
"Boats, paddle boards, fly fishing reels and rods," Millsaps said. "But otherwise, much is available in that special. It's a great time for back to school book bags, folks getting ready, because its a way to support Shop Local Raleigh. We encourage them to come in and say, 'Hey, I'm here to support Shop Local Raleigh!'"
Some of the other merchants taking part in $20 on the 20th include; Quail Ridge Books and Music, Logan Trading Company, The Galatea Boutique, and dozens more.
Raleigh based online shoe company, Fan Feet also gives $20 off on the 20th with the promotion code -- shoplocal20.
