Restaurants and businesses know everyone will be out trick-or-treating or having some fun like NC State student Jesse Gates. "We're going to a party before and then we're walking up and down Hillsborough Street," said Gates.
To entice business, many restaurants and retailers are offering freebies and deals.
Krispy Kreme will give those who stop in with a costume a free doughnut on Friday.
You can also get a free child's scary pancake from now until Halloween at IHOP.
Head into the Lego store on Halloween with your costume and you'll get a special Lego Halloween treat while supplies last.
Your costume can also get you a deal at Chipotle. The restaurant is offering a burrito deal on Halloween. If you show up after 5 p.m. in costume, you can get a burrito bowl, a salad, or tacos for $3.
"I would take advantage of that," said Gates. "Especially since it is so close to NC State."
You can also take advantage of feeding two kids for free at Outback Steakhouse and Olive Garden with an adult entree purchase on Halloween.
Boston Market is also offering a free meal for kids with a coupon.
Kids in costume can also grab a free slice at Sbarros pizza on Halloween with the purchase of an entree.
And, Bass Pro Shops is also getting in on the fun Halloween night giving kids a free mini pumpkin to decorate, a 4x6 photo, and a costume parade. All this is free as businesses work to bring in your business along with the trick-or-treating
