Moving? Bellhops may work for you

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Summer is a big moving season for many families as students take a break from the classroom. If you are looking for ways to save on a move, or if you are a student looking for a flexible way to make money, you may want to see if a Bellhop is right for you.

The online company, getbellhops.com specializes in collegiate and small to medium local moves providing labor in more than 130 cities across the country.

Ty Connors is a full-time Raleigh based web developer and a part-time Bellhop who says the flexibility is key for him.

"There's an online portal I can go to that I just pretty much pick up jobs in the community," said Connors. "It could be a whole family move or it could be a student moving dorm to dorm, it's just whatever they want to post as a job. I can load up my schedule or do one [job]once a month"

Getbellhops.com pairs customers with local employees, many students, who will help you move at an average rate of about $40 an hour. There is an hour minimum, then charges occur in 15 minute increments.
