RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is in full swing providing free meals to kids and teens at over 2500 sites across North Carolina while school is out of session through August 12.

SFSP is a federally-funded program that partners with state agencies to provide the meals. There is no application or proof of income necessary for children and teens ages 18 and younger who go to a summer meals site. Each site serves either breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack. Some school sites participating in SFSP serve all three and many sites offer educational and recreational activities for kids to eat and hang out with friends.
