Live in Durham or Raleigh? Food Lion might deliver

Food Lion announced Tuesday that it will start delivering to your front door.

The Triangle is the second area to get the pilot program. Charlotte was the first.

Residents of Raleigh and Durham will have the opportunity to try out the delivery service.

Food Lion, which is partnering with the Instacart app, says you can get your groceries in as little as an hour.

"As part of our ongoing commitment to making grocery shopping easy, Food Lion is proud to partner with Instacart in the Raleigh and Durham market," said Keith Nicks, vice president of customer engagement at Food Lion. "Through Instacart's speedy delivery service, our customers can enjoy fresh, quality groceries at the affordable prices they expect from Food Lion, now at the convenience of their doorstep."

Shoppers in the delivery area, which include the Raleigh and Durham, N.C., zip codes 27605, 27601, 27608, 27609, 27607, 27612, 27615, 27560, 27513, 27511, 27518, 27606, 27701, 27514, 27707, 27705, and 27510, can shop using Food Lion's website at www.foodlion.com/homedelivery or the Instacart app.

The first delivery is free.
