If you're looking for ways to add about 1,000 more calories to the 563-calorie Big Mac from McDonalds, here's how to do it.

Food blogger Peep My Eats posted photos and recipe of his deep-fried Big Mac to Instagram, which quickly became a trending topic of conversation.

Armchair food critics on Twitter were divided on whether or not the deep-fried Big Mac is the greatest gift nobody bothered to ask for, or the grossest thing in modern history.

Ingredients:

  • 1 McDonald's Big Mac
  • 2 Eggs
  • Japanese-Style Bread Crumbs
  • Toothpicks

Instructions:

  1. Scramble 2 eggs in a bowl.
  2. Dip the Big Mac in the eggs, making sure every part of the Big Mac is covered (place toothpicks through Big Mac if you are having trouble keeping it together).
  3. Cover the Big Mac entirely with the bread crumbs.
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3.
  5. Place the breaded Big Mac in a deep fryer and cook until golden brown.

On Instagram, Peep My Eats posted a disclaimer, warning that he is "not responsible for sudden weight gain" and to "please consult with your doctor before trying your own deep fried big mac!"
