FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WTVD) -- At Fort Bragg, a response team is preparing to help in Operation Unite Assistance -- an effort to get the Ebola outbreak under control.

Around 120 Fort Bragg soldiers have received special training on how to protect themselves from getting infected. However, a Bragg spokesman said the soldiers will not come in contact with any infected patients.

Their mission will be mainly to support U.S. efforts in the Ebola host zone in Africa.

In the event a soldier does get sick, there are plans here in North Carolina to take care of them.

There's still no word on when the Fort Bragg troops will leave, or how long their mission will be.
