RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The ultimate Lego fan experience, Brick Universe, is happening in Downtown Raleigh this weekend.

There will be some amazing Lego creations made by the pros, and they're even teaching bystanders how to build Legos like they can.

Jonathan Lopes started building Lego kits as an adult back in the 90's.

"It was snowing in New York City, and I just went out and bought a Lego kit," Lopes said.

Today, he designs his own structures, with tens of thousands of pieces. He even started making pieces to hang on the wall made entirely of Legos.

"Brick Universe shows the universe of Legos," said Lego enthusiast Greyson Beights. "Shows the community, shows the fans, the artists."

This weekend, fans can see and buy 'Wizard of Oz,' 'Star Wars,' and 'Simpsons' Lego characters.

Brick Universe starts Saturday at the Raleigh Convention Center. It starts at 10:30 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
